5 June 2020 – Day 71

Today was fun. I had a serious ‘lockdown’ hairstyle, so my hairdresser came to our house at about 10 am and provided the ‘essential’ service of a hair cut and colour. I know it is not allowed under the regulations, but I refer back to Winston Churchill’s comment: “If you make 10 000 regulations, you destroy all respect for the law”. He brought Fornos croissants so while the colour was processing we had a chat and catchup while enjoying a continental breakfast. He was very impressed with the face shields that Adri makes and promptly ordered 10 for his salon staff.

We had decided to drive to Silver Creek today, which of course, is in North West. Again, not allowed but there you have it. We were late, as usual, and only left home at about 3 pm. The roads were quiet though, and we made good time. The hangar had been locked up since the weekend of 1 February when we came through for Gavin and Cassidy’s wedding. It was a mess. Starlings have colonised it for roosting.

Dust and bird droppings galore!

We looked the other way, collected Ufudu and went straight on to Eugene and Marlene’s where we would spend the next two nights. We got there at 5:30 pm. Roger will go back over the weekend to see to Buzz and perhaps do a bit of cleaning.

It was so good to be driving out again. We had a lovely evening just chatting, braai’ing and catching up.
