Of course no man is ‘complete’ without his toys!
This is ‘Buzz’
The Bathawk is a South African improved version of the popular Bantam microlight. It is produced by Andrew Pappas and his team at Micro Aviation in Nelspruit (www.microaviationsa.co.za). The Bathawk is now registered in the Light Sport Aircraft category (LSA) instead of the Microlight category, which means the total allowed weight is 540 kg instead of 450 kg.
Buzz is fitted with a Viking engine. This is a modified Honda Jazz engine and develops 110 hp. www.vikingaircraftengines.com
The Bathawk is not designed to have the wings removed on a regular basis so unfortunately it cannot be transported on a trailer. The logistics of flying it from place to place and finding shelter for it proved to be difficult.
‘Suzi’, Letitia’s trusty Suzuki Jimny, is not a lady to be under-estimated!
And of course ‘Splash’
Splash is a fishduc from Arc Inflatables with a 2.5 hp Suzuki 4-stroke engine. www.ark.co.za
Not to mention the scuba diving gear, hiking gear, fishing gear and more! All safely packed inside the trailer that was used to transport Suzi.
We have since sold Splash and Suzi’s trailer. Suzi is now fitted with an A-frame for future towing behind Ufudu.
