The objective of our ‘year of travel’ was to explore our own country, which we have mostly (especially Roger!) seen from the air, but seldom visited and explored in detail.
To promote some of the organisations which are involved in protecting our natural environment such as BirdLife SA, WESSA (Wildlife and Environment Society of SA), EWT (Endangered Wildlife Trust) and the Bateleurs.
To create awareness amongst the people we meet along the way of the fragile nature of our eco-systems and the interdependence of all the elements within our environment.
To offer and provide assistance should it be required.
But mostly to have FUN!!!
